Hector Malot (20 May 1830 – 17 Jul 1907) was a French writer and author, mostly known for his novel Sans Famille. His passion for literature was found while he was studying law at universities of Paris and Rouen. For some time he worked as a critic for some French magazines. In total he wrote 70 works, including Les Amants, L'Auberge du Monde and Conscience. 
Nobody's Girl is a novel by Hector Malot. The story follows Perrine, a 13 year old girl. Her mother was sick, so they travelled to Paris in search for medicine. But all the care they found was not enough, and the illness eventually took Perrine’s mother. All alone, with no penny in pocket, she decides to find her relatives in city of Maraucourt. What adventures will this little orphan have to face in order to find a new home? Read this touching story and find it out!
