Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass is an autobiography written by the former slave and a famous abolitionist. Frederick Douglass is born to a slave mother called Harriet Bailey sometime in 1817 or 1818, but exact date is not known to him. He gets separated from his mother soon after he was born and ends in slavery as he grows up. At a time which the life of slaves is brutal in the plantation fields, Douglass gets to work in the household which is more peaceful for him. He gets to work in a house in Baltimore at the age of seven where he finds a mistress who is kind to him. This is where Douglass learns to read and his life starts to take a turn.
