  • The first Sherlock Holmes story

It still holds up over 120 years later.

  • Good, but has some flaws.

There are some flaws with this book, but I’ll only touch on one here. I feel that Part 2 shouldn’t have been in the book. It seems that it’s just there to make the book longer. The reason I say that is because, Hope explains what happened in Part 2 in the final chapters and states why he had done what he did. (Pardon me for being so general, but I don’t want to spoil the book for any new readers.)
