Man found not guilty of preventing burial of two babies
A man has been found not guilty of preventing the burial of two babies in South Wales.
Zilvinas Ledovskis, 50, of Phoebe Road, Swansea, was due to stand trial later this year. He was charged with two counts of concealing the birth of a child and two counts of preventing the lawful and decent burial of a dead body.
He was found not guilty at Cardiff Crown Court on Tuesday after the prosecution said it would not be presenting any evidence against him. Egle Zilinskaite, 31, of Crwys Road, Cardiff, pleaded guilty to the charges in April last year and is due to be sentenced at a later date.
Judge Tracey Lloyd-Clarke told Mr Ledovskis the prosecution had "offered no evidence" against him and she directed "not guilty verdicts to be entered". "That concludes the proceedings so far as you are concerned," she said.
