The six people who died in the San Diego plane crash

All six people on board a plane that crashed in San Diego have died, investigators have said.

They also highlighted a number of issues that may have contributed to the incident, including the foggy weather conditions. US music agent Dave Shapiro was among those killed when the private jet went down in Murphy Canyon, San Diego California, on Thursday.

Investigator Dan Baker of the National Transportation Safety Board said runway lights were out at the time of the incident, and a weather alert system also wasn't working when the pilot made the decision to try to land. The twin-engine Cessna Citation, on its approach to Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport, clipped power lines before crashing, he said.

Before this, the pilot acknowledged weather conditions were not ideal and debated diverting to a different airport while talking to an air traffic controller, according to audio posted by LiveATC.net. The Federal Aviation Administration had posted a notice that lights were not working, but it is not clear whether the pilot was aware.

He is heard saying, "doesn't sound great, but we'll give it a go.
