Man charged over hospital crossbow incident

A man has been charged after armed police swooped on a hospital over reports of someone carrying a crossbow inside.

Officers were called to Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital on Friday morning after a man reportedly entered the building carrying the ranged weapon. Police Scotland have now confirmed that a 29-year-old man has been arrested and charged following the incident.

He is due to appear in court on Monday. The atrium of the hospital was closed for a "short time" and traffic was temporarily diverted around the building, but a spokesperson for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde said there had been no disruption to services..
