Man stabbed to death near five-star London hotel in possible watch robbery

A murder investigation has been launched after a man was stabbed to death near a five-star hotel and casino in central London.

Detectives are investigating reports the incident shortly before 9.30pm on Wednesday was a watch robbery. Police said a 24-year-old man died at the scene after being stabbed in Seville Street, Knightsbridge.

Pictures from the scene show a cordon and tent erected outside the Park Tower, a five-star hotel and casino in the heart of Knightsbridge, next to Hyde Park and near the Harrods department store. But a spokesperson said the incident did not involve any guests or staff.

"We are very saddened by this incident that occurred on the street adjacent to our hotel. Our thoughts are with the victim's family at this difficult time," a statement said.

"We are fully cooperating with the authorities as they investigate this matter." No arrests have been made and the crime scene will remain in place while officers investigate, the Metropolitan Police said in a statement. The force said the victim's family are being supported by specialist officers.
