Man and woman charged with murder of 26-year-old in southeast London

A man and a woman have been charged with murder after the death of a 26-year-old in southeast London.

Ayowale Aladejana died at the scene in Monson Road, New Cross, on Saturday evening, after police were called to reports of a man with stab wounds at a residential address. Ben Wazabanga and Ronique Belfon, both 23 and from Bedford, have been charged with murder.

Wazabanga has also been charged with possession of a knife. Belfon appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court today and spoke only to confirm her name, age and address.

Mr Aladejana was from South Norwood. A post-mortem gave the preliminary cause of death as a stab wound to the chest..
