Man charged with murder after pensioner, 87, found dead

A man has been charged with murder after the death of a pensioner in southeast London.

Vasile Iosebica, 47, was arrested after police were called to an address in Wellmeadow Road, Lewisham, at about 1am on Sunday following reports of a death at the property. Brian Hunt, 87, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by specially-trained officers, police said. The Metropolitan Police say the man and Iosebica were known to each other. Iosebica, of Wellmeadow Road, will appear at Bromley Magistrates' Court on Tuesday..
