Restaurateur charged with murder of 100-year-old mother

A restaurateur has been charged with murder after the death of his 100-year-old mother.

Pamela Mogford died in February 2022 in Bledlow Ridge, Buckinghamshire. Her 78-year-old son Jeremy Mogford, founder of the Browns chain, and Sarah Pickering, 71, have each been charged with one count of murder and one count of attempted murder.

Mogford, from St Giles, Oxford, and Pickering, from Guildford in Surrey, appeared in court in Oxford via videolink on Thursday. They were released on bail and are due to appear at Oxford Crown Court in March.
