Several people have been hit by a bus in Sweden's capital of Stockholm, according to local police.
Police say there are both "injured and deceased" in the incident on Valhallavagen street, close to the city's University of Technology. Swedish media reported several fatalities, however police have not confirmed any numbers.
According to Reuters, the vehicle hit a bus stop in central Stockholm. The cause of the crash is not yet known.
In a statement, police said: "At this time, the police are not commenting on the number, gender or ages of those affected." It added: "Police, rescue services and ambulance are working at the scene and due to the operation, Valhallavagen is closed between Odengatan and Engelbrektsgatan." A spokesperson for Stockholm's rescue services said six people were affected by the incident. The spokesperson said there were no passengers on the bus at the time.
The scene has been cordoned off, police added. "It is being investigated as involuntary manslaughter.
"The bus driver has been arrested but that is routine in such an incident," a police spokesperson said, adding they had no information pointing to it being an attack. Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson said in a post on X: "We do not yet know the cause of this, but right now my thoughts are foremost with those who have been affected and their families."
