Man serving 23-year sentence for attempted murder absconds from prison

Police are hunting for a man who absconded from prison while serving a 23-year sentence for attempted murder.

Kieran Cameron, 43, was reported missing from HMP Thorn Cross, an open prison in Warrington, Cheshire, at 9.20pm on Tuesday, police said. He is described as white, about 5ft 6ins tall, of medium build, with heavily receding hair, and a ginger and grey beard.

Cameron was jailed for attempted murder in Dorset in 2016. He is known to have "extensive links" to Manchester, Liverpool and areas of Dorset, Cheshire Police said.
