Thomas Jefferson, (13 April 1743 – 4 July 1826) was an American Founding Father, principal author of the “Declaration of Independence”, and the third President of the United States. He was an adherent of democracy embraced the principles of republicanism. He was a polymath in the arts, sciences, and politics. After his presidency, he founded the University of Virginia. Thomas Jefferson is consistently rated as one of the greatest U. S. presidents. 
“The Declaration of Independence of The United States of America” adopted by the Continental Congress meeting on July 4, 1776, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Thomas Jefferson was elected to compose the text because he was good in writing skills. This declaration is one of the most important document of U. S. independence.
