Daiyu Buries Fallen Flowers

Daiyu Buries Fallen Flowers

The picture-story book “Daiyu Buries Fallen Flowers” is adapted from one of the classical Chinese novels A Dream of Red Mansions. It describes Lin Daiyu, after her parents have died, comes to live with her distant relatives in the Rongguo House. When she falls in love with Jia Baoyu, rumour says that Baoyu will marry another girl Xue Baochai for the legendary “locket-jade match.” Daiyu buries the fallen flowers in the Prospect Garden on the Flower Festival, and self-pitying, sings the “Song of Burying Flowers” full of sadness and indignation.
