Peace, Perfect Peace

Peace, Perfect Peace

Peace, Perfect Peace is a moving and serene guide to bearing with grief and sorrow, from the perspective of author and Baptist preacher F. B. Meyer.
Over his many years as a pastor, F. B. Meyer had given solace to many a person lost in the depths of sadness. The bitter grief of losing a person is never easy to bear, and it is only by gradually overcoming the emotion and looking to a brighter future that the person can move on and derive strength from the experience. The process can be neither swift nor careless; the author emphasizes remembering how so many other people across the ages have endured the same sadness.
As a Christian, F. B. Meyer recognizes that there is a time for different emotions. It is perfectly normal in life to be beset by grief through the cruelty of circumstance - the sudden loss of a relative or close friend to calamity, war or illness is an age-old experience. Yet such circumstance is apportioned by God, who wishes to render comfort through the eternal lessons of Jesus Christ.
Perfect peace is thus not about merely forgetting or using distraction to depart one's bereavements, but understanding that such events are a part of life that must be coped and overcome with the wisdom taught by God. Avoiding seclusion and appreciating even the small things in life, and never regretting or feeling ashamed of the emotion, is a course of sensible eminence.
In all, this manual is a source of comfort in a difficult time, written by a person whose very vocation it was to offer God's warmth to his fellow man.
