The Christmas Makeover

The Christmas Makeover

He’s ready for the lights…

Baker Grant Reed loves discovering new Christmas recipes, making people smile, and Angel Point—not necessarily in that order. But when his editor turns down his proposal for a Christmas cookbook, he must show her how serious he is about becoming the premier pastry chef in the country. He turns to his best friend, Faith—if anyone can give him a complete makeover that will turn heads, she can.

She knows how to make things sparkle…

In her past, Faith Hathaway was a costume designer for some of Broadway’s most prestigious plays. Now, after moving to Angel Point to help her grandfather, she owns and operates a vintage boutique and helps out at the local theater. When Grant asks for a makeover, she’s torn—she loves him the way he is, mismatched socks and all.

In exchange, he promises to show Faith, who has never enjoyed the holiday season, the magic of an Angel Point Christmas. But as the two grow closer, Grant can’t help but wonder…has he got his Christmas wish all wrong?

  • Slow build

Too much build-up to a happy ending, and not enough happy ending.

  • A Little Help From My Friend

Little do you know that when you help out a friend, what the outcome will be. Faith and Grant are strictly friends. Or are they? This is a story of how helping others helps you. She is a costume designer and an extremely talented artist who left her job in NYC to help her grandpa. He’s always lived in Angel Point and is a very talented baker. But both are so much more and reading this as we see deeper and deeper into the characters as Faith and Grant get their own Christmas wish. I received an advanced reader copy from the publisher and am voluntarily leaving my review.

  • Cute story

What a wonderful, feel-good story. This book was a breath of fresh air, an original story and I absolutely loved it! Why did it have to end? How often do you read a great book and then when it's over, that book is all you think about? Well, The Christmas Makeover was that book for me. I read so many books each month and most of them become forgettable. There was just something special about this book that is still strongly resonating with me. I want to live in Angel Point. I want to be friends with Grant and Faith. Another wonderful thing about this book is the premise. I haven't read one like this in so long which only added to my enjoyment. The Christmas Makeover is a sweet, clean romance. So if you're looking for intense and dirty, this book is not for you. The pace was steady, the characters, which there are many of, were all amazing in their own ways and added even more enjoyment. My only complaint is that I wish there was an epilogue. The H/h didn't have enough time together as a couple before the book was over. I am not going to give you a summary for the sole reason, that I don't want to spoil your reading enjoyment. I will add that the author does an amazing job depicting the holidays. I am so ready for the fun and chaos of Christmas. Especially this year. This book is part of a series so I can only hope the author will let us revisit Grant and Faith in the next book. Gosh, I adored them! I recommend this adorable, heartwarming book to anyone looking for an endearing, feel-good holiday story. It was wonderful and a must read. This is my honest and unbiased review and I thank you for taking the time to read it.
