Close to the Ridge

Close to the Ridge

Climb the mountain so you can see the world, not so the world can see you.

In the end, all I learned was how to be strong. Alone.

Lincoln is a former Navy Seal, hiding away in the mountains in Oregon. He wants to live his life away from people. He's happy on his own, preferring the peace and quiet. Yet, the demons from his past still haunt him...

One day out, he comes across Pearl—a young woman is on a solo hiking adventure—who injures herself badly and needs his help. Her injury and a snow storm force her to hole up with him in his tiny cabin.

Things heat up between them, but he never reveals who he really is and why he lives on his own.

Can Lincoln control his desire or will he allow the ghosts of the past to catch up with him?

This is a cliff-hanger. Have to buy the next 2 books. I hate that. Plus this was extremely unrealistic.

This book was good...up to a point. I liked both Lincoln and Pearl they were interesting characters. I enjoyed the plot with the two of them being trapped in the cabin together and being forced to coexist. The tentative journey from strangers to more was good. I was really rooting for them. Unfortunately, this book ends on a massive cliffhanger not only that, but you have to read the next two books in the series to get closure to their story. I was disappointed and now i’m not sure I want to continue.

  • Had potential.

Over all the story line was good. Kept me interested enough to finish. There was an alarming amount of typos and grammatical errors. That doesn’t sit right with me. Also some parts seemed too rushed, especially certain parts of the dialog. I think a little more time could have been spent painting the scenes and backdrops as well as describing certain moment and feelings. The smutty parts were just okay, those were very rushed and I wish they had been slowed down and described better. I will continue to at least the next one though because it was left on a cliff hanger
