One of the best books I have ever read...and I am soon to be 75 years old! It was an eye opener about prejudice that I never expected...especially in Alaska! Having started school in a one room schoolhouse, it took me back to my childhood and then carried me on a wild ride along with the young Anne Hobbs as she taught her first year of school in Alaska! And what a ride it was especially since it was a true account of her life! Just a great read!

I really enjoyed this book. I found myself thinking about it through out the day. She was a very brave woman and she stuck to her convictions. I don't think I could have done that.
