Easy P P Peasy - English Phoneme to Grapheme Mapping

Because of the history and evolution of the English language, the relationship between its letters, groups of letters, and sounds, is now particularly complex. Human brains are very good at detecting these types of patterns but they can only do it efficiently if they experience a sufficient number of the necessary associations occurring close together in time and space. The word lists presented in this book are designed to group words together in a way that highlights these crucial underlying patterns. This structure makes it possible for the brain to absorb these fundamental associations without conscious effort. Use these lists to create words games for children learning to read English, students new to English and for adults who have become confused and unsure about English spelling or pronunciation.
