Mask Makers

Marcel Dzama (Winnipeg, 1974) is a Canadian artist living in New York City known for small-scale, ink and watercolour drawings of human figures, animals and imaginary hybrids. 333 combines an assorted mix of unseen collages and drawings. He is a founding member of The Royal Art Lodge, the Canadian art collective, together with Neil Farber and Michael Dumontier. Dzama has been showcasing at the Museum of Modern Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York and at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. His artwork has been included in several museum collections as well as in 2004 he got awarded the Sobey Art Award Viewers Choice, one of the most important prizes for young Canadian artists.
