King of Lions

King of Lions

Pick a card. Start your adventure.

Star athlete and captain of Almasi Academy's basketball team, Leo knows what it takes to win. It's survival of the strongest both on and off the court, and he's determined to succeed. When his team is invited to the upcoming East African Tournament, he designs a perfect plan to ensure they become the next regional champions.

Unfortunately, no plan is perfect, and his has two serious flaws. The current champions, the Rift Valley Vipers, are as lethal as their namesake and have a reputation for delivering punishing, painful defeat on their opponents. More difficult than the Vipers is what Leo picks from a deck of Safari Cards — the King of Lions.

Leo loves being king until the moment he trips over the face-sized paw of a lion who is no longer inside its card. The lion promises not to eat anyone but refuses to leave until Leo accepts an impossible mission: help the team's weakest member, a scrawny boy nicknamed One-hand Sam, to play at the tournament. It will almost definitely mean losing the game, but if Leo refuses, the lion will unleash chaos and confusion.

In order to complete the mission, Leo must identify Sam's inner gems and talents, and reassess his own understanding of leadership and strength. On the other hand, if he wants to defeat the Vipers, he can't let anything distract him, not even a talking lion and a one-handed basketball player.

But when an injury prevents Leo from playing, he'll need to think up a new game strategy, or lose more than just a trophy.

Start your action-adventure in a series that's Chronicles of Narnia meets Jumanji in Kenya.
