This is a book I wrote. Because I wrote it, I had to figure out what to put on the back cover to explain what it is. I tried to write a long, third-person summary that would imply how great the book is and also sound vaguely authoritative—like maybe someone who isn’t me wrote it—but I soon discovered that I’m not sneaky enough to pull it off convincingly. So I decided to just make a list of things that are in the book:

I also owe her a huge debt for giving me my go to laugh out loud story about Kenny Loggins. Whenever I need the endorphins...I hit up the Jesus was a huge Kenny Loggins fan story. Thank you Allie!

I cannot say enough good things about this book. Fans of Brosh’s work in her webcomic of the same name will find some old favorites here, as well as some new material. If you’re new to Hyperbole and a Half, you’re in for a great time. Ever struggled with depression? This book has something for you in it. Ever felt like you were entirely sure you knew what you were doing with your life? Allie’s yellow-cone-haired protagonist can relate. Ever found yourself cornered in your own home by a homicidal goose? No? Well, do you want to read about someone who has? Great — buy this book (it even has pictures of the event to prove that it happened). If you’re not the kind of person who’s okay with talking openly about topics that make many people feel uncomfortable (including depression and suicidal ideation) then this book may not be for you. Otherwise, you’re in for a great read.

Depressing book. Appears to be written for those suffering from depression. Too many F-bombs; lazy writing. The high number of good reviews sadly reflects the dumbing down of America.
