Making Changes with Your Teen

Making Changes with Your Teen

Few paragraphs from this eBook is as follows,

More and More Parents are afraid of disciplining their children. Sometimes this is because they are concerned discipline will hurt their child's self esteem.

Sometimes it is because they don't want to risk losing their child's love or good feelings towards them. Sometimes it is just too much work.

Sometimes it is just too painful for the parent to watch their child suffer consequences.

As a result, we at times go to great lengths to avoid our children receiving consequences - We tend to try using talk instead of using consequences. We lecture. We yell. We scold. We lay guilt trips. We warn. We threaten, sometimes even with rage. And, we constantly remind. Basically, We talk hoping we don't have to take any action or levy any consequences.
