Williams is an amazing storyteller, and that’s part of what this book is; every chapter, he tells personal stories to drive home what he is teaching and why. In some respects, this is an engaging history of art and animation, in addition to an artist’s guide book. He clearly lays out what should be studied and why it matters, and engages the reader from a humble and nuanced perspective. This is not the step-by-step “draw the rest of the owl”. These are the words of a master recording his knowledge, with passion and an understanding that the reader must be engaged to absorb the subject.

Love the book, but wish that you could highlight the text to make notes. As of right now I can’t select any text to highlight it. I hope this feature can be fixed.

Very nice to have the extras videos and example animations in this digital version of this book. I use it with the printed copy. It’s also nice to have this iBook vs, that works on my Mac, iPads, and iPhone, making it easier to study in the dark!

Had the book already which is amazing, and the videos just make it better. Note: Noticed some comments about videos issues. They work perfectly for me, so they have probably been fixed.
