Ghost Forest. Where death lives—amid history and legend. Explorer Bryce Wilder (James Hyde) and his photographer Chad Johnson (Christopher Warren) journey into the forbidden Ghost Forest, a sacred area created by a massive Tsunami that devastated the region in 1701. Bryce tells his companion they are looking for the legendary “Sky Burial” sites, where the natives interned their dead in elevated graves atop the trees, and no living person has ever documented. Secretly, Bryce is after evidence of a previous expedition party that disappeared without a trace over 60 years ago. Shortly after entering the river corridor, Bryce and Chad encounter a nearly drowned native, who overturned her canoe in the current. Tokala (Elizabeth Frances) says she will take Bryce and Chad to their ‘destination’…, in exchange for safe passage out of the forest. Soon they reach the legendary forest, where they gaze in awe at the scenery of giant cedars still standing, yet dead in the salt water from the tidal wave. Chad, who believes he has seen and heard unexplained sounds and shadows in the night, is relieved at the sight, as the forest seemed to be closing in on him. When the three awake the next morning, their boat is gone along with their guaranteed way out of the forest. Now, the only way out of the forest is overland and, of course, only Tokala knows that way to safety. As the day wanes, Chad begins to realize that the real danger is Tokala herself as she takes them deeper and deeper into the forest, farther and farther from finding safe return.
