Former Premier League referee charged with making indecent video of a child

A former Premier League referee has been charged with making an indecent video of a child, police have said.

David Coote, 43, was charged by Nottinghamshire Police in relation to a video file found by detectives in February this year. Sky News understands the charge is over a Category A image, which is the most serious type of offence and usually involves children being sexually assaulted by adults.

Coote, of Collingham, was charged on 12 August and is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on 11 September, Nottinghamshire Police said. This breaking news story is being updated and more details will be published shortly.
