Ceasefire declared between Syrian government and Kurdish-led forces
A ceasefire has been declared between Syrian government troops and US-backed Kurdish-led forces, according to state media.
Fighting had intensified recently, with Syrian troops seizing the country's largest oil field as well as a gas field from the group. Now, the government troops will secure all oil and gas fields in the area around Deir Ezzor and Raqqa, "to ensure the return of resources to the Syrian state.
