Murder investigation launched after man killed in 'targeted' attack

Detectives have launched a murder inquiry after a man was killed in a "targeted" attack in Glasgow.

James Greenhorn, 61, was pronounced dead at the scene following the daylight disturbance in Dalness Close, Tollcross, at about 12.25pm on Monday. Police Scotland said Mr Greenhorn's family had been made aware and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

The force believes the victim, from the area, was "deliberately targeted". Detective Chief Inspector David Lamont said: "We believe that Mr Greenhorn was deliberately targeted.

His death is being treated as murder. "Our investigation is ongoing and we are following a definite line of enquiry." The area has been taped off by police as investigations continue.
