The Sinister Pig

The Sinister Pig

Hot on the heels of his huge bestseller, The Wailing Wind, Tony Hillerman brings back Chee and Leaphorn in a puzzling new mystery

The body of a well-dressed fellow, all identification missing, is found hidden under the brush on the Jicarilla Apache Reservation. The local FBI takes over from the Navajo Police Sergeant Jim Chee, and quickly has the case snatched all the way to Washington. Washington proves uncooperative and the case is deadended. When Joe Leaphorn, the “legendary lieutenant” of Hillerman’s Navajo Tribal Police discovers that Washington officials hid the body’s identity, lines surprisingly connect to the case he’s working on at exotic game ranch. A photograph she sends him tells Chee she is facing a danger he doesn’t understand.

Hillerman produces a galaxy of unusual characters in this compelling novel that is sure to confound readers until the very last page.

  • The Sinister Pig Tony Hillerman

The Sinister Pig is a piece of equipment used for cleaning pipes but is actually being utilized to transport cocaine from Mexico. A drug pipeline. An extremely cruel and brutal man on the US side is only interested in his profits and will have anyone terminated by a man who works for him who goes by the nickname of Budge. What he fails to realize is Budge despises him and didn’t carry out his last contract killing. Officer Bernadette Manuellito who goes by the nickname of Bernie was also suppose to be terminated but was saved by Budge who then kills his boss in a shoot out. Bernies boss is also part of the drug trafficking and set her up to be killed. Another excellent read in this series!!! Enjoyed immensely!!!!!

  • Great mystery

One of my top 3 favorite Tony Hillerman novels; the mystery & intrigue kept me on the edge of my seat until the the last page! - George Guidall’s narration is what makes Hillerman novels on tape so good.
