Usually I would keep an open mind and even tolerate whatever the plot would be but unfortunately, I couldn’t really wanted to read Mack’s story all the way through because of the disturbing nature of Summer’s rape & unexpected pregnancy after Mack left due to shooting & killing Summer’s rapist when they teenagers ten years ago. I really liked Mack but unfortunately I was disappointed with the plot. Violence against women and sexual trafficking are two disturbing backstories that are difficult to read in novels whether it’s digital or paperback. I didn’t bother reading it through due to disturbing descriptions of her Summer’s rape in an empty alley. I wished Mack’s had a better backstory than Summer’s rape/pregnancy.😕
