American Auto Trail

American Auto Trail

This installment in the American Auto Trails series follows U.S. Highway 31 from Mackinaw City, at the Mackinaw Straits, down the left shoulder of Michigan's Lower Peninsula along Lake Michigan, to the state's border with Indiana. The history of this region is explored, from the early French explorers and Native Americans to the European settlers of the 1800's.

This edition contains additional historic points of interest, improved formatting, reference maps, and GPS coordinates for listed historic sites.
