In developing economies, due to rising population and increasing migration, cities are rapidly growing. By 2050, two-thirds of all humanity (6.5 billion people) will be living in cities. Sustainable development cannot be achieved without significantly transforming how we build and manage our cities and develop communities. There is an urgent need to make our cities sustainable (i.e. creating more jobs, safe and affordable housing, and building resilient societies and economies).
