The Velveteen Rabbit

The Velveteen Rabbit

Treasured for generations, The Velveteen Rabbit is Margery Williams’ joyful celebration of imagination, wonder, and what it means to be a child.

With illustrations lovingly reconstructed from the 1922 first edition, this timeless children’s tale is the ideal gift for birthdays, baby showers, and holidays throughout the year.

At first a cherished gift for Christmas, a brand-new velveteen toy rabbit becomes a threadbare and discarded nursery relic, saved from peril by a magic fairy that whisks him away to the idyllic world of Rabbitland. There, he becomes “Real,” a treasured childhood companion who will be loved for eternity.

MARGERY WILLIAMS (1881-1944) was an English-American author, primarily of popular children's books. A professional writer since the age of nineteen, she achieved lasting fame at forty-one with the 1922 publication of the classic that is her best-known work, The Velveteen Rabbit.
