Three arrested after motorcyclist and pedestrian die in crash

Three men have been arrested after a motorcyclist and a pedestrian died in a crash in Lancashire.

A BMW motorbike collided with two pedestrians on the A6 Preston Road in Clayton-Le-Woods just after 10.30pm on Thursday. The man in his 50s from Macclesfield in Cheshire who was riding the bike, and one of the pedestrians, a man in his 60s from Clayton-Le-Woods, died at the scene.

The other pedestrian, a woman in her 60s, was taken to hospital where she remains in a "serious but stable" condition, Lancashire Police said. Three men who were all in the area at the time of the collision were arrested on Friday, the force added.

They are a 53-year-old man from Whittle-le-Woods, Lancashire; a 57-year-old man from Middlewich, Cheshire; and a 46-year-old man from Congleton, Cheshire. All three were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and have been released under investigation.
