This is the first of three volumes of a collection of five long stories by Irish writer Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu, all purportedly from the posthumous papers of the occult detective Dr. Martin Hesselius. This book, published in 1872, includes “Green Tea,” “The Familiar,” and “Mr. Justice Harbottle.”
