Halloween Party

Halloween Party

The invitation arrived in a black-bordered envelope and was delivered by the beautiful and mysterious transfer student. The inside showed a coffin with the inscription “Reserved for You”—perfect for an all-night Halloween party in an old house on Fear Street.

The party is well under way when the lights go out. That’s to be expected at the Halloween party. But when the lights come back on, a boy is on the floor with a knife in his back. Just a Halloween prank? Maybe. Maybe not.

Now the guests’ trick-or-treating has turned to terror. And it looks like someone’s idea of a party game is murder!

  • A party to die for...

When Terry, his girlfriend and his girlfriend, Niki, the only thing that keeps them from being excited about being invited to a Halloween party that is being thrown by Justine, the new girl in school, was the mystery of why they and their friends were invited. On Halloween night, everyone shows up for what Terry and Niki hope will simply be a night of fun. With music and dancing, Halloween treats for everyone to enjoy eating, scary movies, pranks, and, of course, everyone showing up in Halloween costumes and masks, the festivities do, in deed, start out being fun. Terry and Niki start to relax since, as they hoped, this is shaping up to be an ordinary Halloween party and a fun one... until Terry and his friends find a REAL dead body! Now he must find a way to warn everyone that someone at the costume party is dressed to kill! And he must do it before the murderer turns his invitation into an invitation to terror! Once again, I have read better Fear Street books than this one, but R.L. Stine did a great job of creating an enjoyable and frightening Halloween tale for horror fans who enjoy a mystery that is unpredictable and leads to a surprising and twisted climax! If you want another great Halloween shocker from this author, I recommend that young fright fans who enjoy reading paperback books track down Halloween Night, the only Halloween horror novel R.L. Stine aimed directly at teenagers that I find scarier than this book!

  • Ehhhhh

It’s okay. The person who typed it up for digital reading needs a refresher course in copying straight from a paperback. There were so many errors that it ruined the whole reading experience.
