Painting with Lions

Painting with Lions

Cave art has fascinated and intrigued academics for decades. But who exactly were these prehistoric artists who existed long before the invention of writing? Why did they paint? And how did they acquire their skills all those millennia ago?

Painting with Lions takes us back 35,000 years into the past to tell the story of Ellé, a young woman born into a group of hunter-gatherers from the Ibex tribe and who would go on to become one of those mysterious cave artists who painted the souls of animals onto the walls of the famous Chauvet Cave.
