Red Onion Mountain

Red Onion Mountain

In 1941, Price Mullins, a fifth-grader living on Red Onion Mountain, is urged by his teacher to document his world.

Price soon finds solace in writing, chronicling his adventures with his best friend Billy, living without a father, and the joys of life with his mother and three sisters. Price’s journal becomes a window into his youth.

When tragedy strikes and his beloved teacher passes away, Price decides to honor her memory by one last gesture of gratitude and farewell.

A coming-of-age story set in 1940s Appalachia, RED ONION MOUNTAIN is a heartfelt tale of loss and the bittersweetness of growing up.
