Islands of Space

Islands of Space

Islands of Space, first serialized in 1931, is a sequel to Campbell’s The Black Star Passes and continues the exploits of scientists Arcot, Morey, and Wade as they explore the universe. Combining speculative science with action, the novel envisions antimatter, interdimensional travel, and alien civilizations. Though reflecting the pulp style of its time, it showcases Campbell’s early ideas about space exploration and technological advancement, which he would later develop as an influential editor in shaping hard science fiction.
