War Secrets: A Short Story

War Secrets: A Short Story

When I wrote my literary thriller A Bitter Veil, I intentionally left a loose end near the conclusion of the novel. That unexplained loose end is explained in “War Secrets.” It is the 1930’s in Leipzig, Germany. The Nazis are in power, but war has not yet begun. A young physics student from the Middle East must work his German scientist mentor on nuclear fission. But both men have secrets that could prove fatal to each other. While “War Secrets” stands on its own, it is also the prequel to A Bitter Veil.

“War Secrets” was originally published in Mystery Writers of America 2013 anthology The Mystery Box, edited by Brad Meltzer.
