Songwriters Jule Styne and Sammy Cahn's Oscar-nominated "It's Magic" became a huge hit for Day. The film was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Score. Sequences were shot in Cartagena, Columbia, and Rio de Janeiro and Bahia, Brazil.
