Rooted in memories of her childhood, Okwui – who’s worked with conceptual artists like Ralph Lemon and Julie Taymor, and was featured in Jay-Z's 4:44 video – fuses dance, song, drama and comedy to create a mesmerizing space in which audiences can engage with a story about two 12-year-old black girls coming of age in the 1980s. The Rape of Recy Taylor

Recy Taylor, a 24-year-old black mother and sharecropper, was gang raped by six white boys in 1944 Alabama. A common occurrence in the Jim Crow South, few women spoke up in fear for their lives. Not Recy Taylor, who instead bravely identified her rapists. The NAACP sent its rape investigator Rosa Parks to Alabama, who rallied support and triggered an unprecedented outcry for justice. This film exposes the legacy of physical abuse inflicted upon black women and reveals Rosa Parks’ intimate role in Recy Taylor’s story. An attempted rape against Parks was but one inspiration for her ongoing fight for justice for countless women like Taylor. Parks’ 1955 bus boycott was the result of decades of activist work, not the beginning. More and more women are now speaking up after their assault. THE RAPE OF RECY TAYLOR shines a light on the black women who spoke up when danger was greatest; it was their noble efforts to reclaim control of their bodies that paved the way for today’s generation of activists. The 2017 Women's March and the ongoing Black Lives Matter movement are directly linked to their courage.

On a hot summer day in 1976, three masked men boarded a school bus in the town of Chowchilla, CA and kidnapped the driver and all twenty-six children aboard. The kids and their driver were transferred onto soundproofed vans, driven for hours, and buried alive in an underground chamber. With little to eat or drink, air rapidly running out, and the roof buckling from the weight of thousands of pounds of dirt the kidnappers had used to cover the chamber, one of the children lead a harrowing escape effort. The apprehension of the kidnappers and subsequent revelation of their identities only added to the shock of an event that would haunt those who survived it for decades as they struggled to regain all they had lost.

In the summer of 1971, John Lennon and Yoko Ono went into the studio at their estate in Tittenhurst Park in Ascot to begin recording sessions for Imagine. They took the (then) unusual step to film every aspect of the sessions, which continued when they moved to NYC to complete the album with Phil Spector. The truly ground-breaking aspect of the film is the glimpse it provides into the creative genius of John Lennon, and the striking special moments between John and Yoko. The progress of songs featured on the album is followed through their inception to final recording, an extraordinary and visual demonstration of a great talent using the recording process to bring his vision to a reality. Compared to the more ethereal Imagine film, Gimme Some Truth is a stunning fly-on-the-wall document of how one of the most iconic and important albums of the rock era came into being. Gimme Some Truth was released by EMI in 2000, and won a Grammy for Best Longform Music Video at the 2001 Awards. Again, due to poor conversions, the overall visual quality was poor on that release. Gimme Some Truth has been frame-matched to the original negative, every frame hand cleaned and restored, and the soundtrack remixed and remastered in 5. 1.
