The story of the magazine is told by the photographers and skaters who lived through the birth of skateboarding.

Nearly two decades in and the Slednecks team still continues progressing the sport. Slednecks 19 features both some familiar faces, and some new ones. Brodie Evans and Derek Wood continue to find new riding zones in and around Revelstoke, BC, while Kalle “KJ” Johansson, Chris Brown, and Brandon Micku tear up the mountains in Whistler. Dave England and Cody Borchers bring their freestyle tricks to the mountains and continue to redefine what’s possible on natural backcountry terrain. Scandinavia is home to some of the most progressive riding and is where we sent our cameras to catch up with super ripper Andreas Bergmark. Reagan Sieg goes deep into the backcountry and continues to show the world what is possible on his Timbersled. Quad rider extraordinaire Christian Gagnon trades in wheels for skis and escapes the pavement of Vancouver in search of fresh air and technical lines on his snowmobile. Yoga for Surfing

Two paths, destined to cross, their fates intertwined. Introducing Yoga for Surfing featuring three routines of varying lengths. Yoga for surfing will open and strengthen your body, increase your stamina, and improve your surfing experience. Yoga For Surfing is very relaxing and introduces basic poses to those who are new to yoga. Filmed on the beach so you are listening to ocean sounds the whole time. Included are one 45-minute routine, one 10 minutes pose guide covering common yoga poses and one 5 minute pre-surf routine. Each sequence is calmly led with a focus on teaching yoga basics that will improve your surfing and your life. This is a flowing practice, filled with basic poses that are easy to do. Please take note: this practice is designed for surfers or unexperienced yoga practitioners and for anyone interested in taking surfing to the next level.

Go Fast Pull Up: The Jimmy LeVan Story

As BMX evolved from the 80’s to the 90’s, a whole new generation of companies and riders rose to the forefront of the industry, forever changing its future. Caught up in the fold was a young BMX racer from Louisville, Kentucky named James Menard LeVan. Along with his sister Susie, the pair traversed the ranks of the Midwest racing scene, supported by their Mom’s ragtag track-side business. After getting bored with pedaling fast around a track, Jimmy transitioned into dirt jumping and street riding, and found himself caught up in the mix as outside corporate companies entered the industry in the mid-90’s with the launch of the X Games. Using skills learned from years on the racetrack, Jimmy soon found himself at the helm of a new form of street riding – jumping large gaps – which would ultimately elevate him to legend status within the expanding BMX scene. As the years went on, a string of bad injuries would plague Jimmy as his riding career began to slow down, until a fateful skateboard accident would forever change his world. Go Fast Pull Up takes a look at Jimmy’s story while stepping through important moments in BMX’s colorful history along the way.

A challenge and an adventure. The lure of this race attracts over 24 nations separated into four different classes of riders. From the Hobby class to the Pros, Red Bull Romaniacs offers a diverse spectrum of riding for all levels. For anyone who yearns for an enduro challenge like never before, this race is one of the must-dos in life. Everyone comes for the challenge, and they leave here a winner. Kings of extreme. This year, Graham Jarvis returns for the repeat. But he will be chased by Chris Birch and Gerhard Forster who have both stood on the podium before. Three time winner Cyril Despres is also back while the Brit Paul Bolton thinks the 3rd time will be his charm. And lurking in the shadows are a few new comers to Romaniacs who look to spoil the party. It’s the toughest field this race has seen and from beginning to end, the action never stops.

There’s been a movement in New England. Woods racers from all over have been flocking to this off-road wonderland in order to challenge for supremacy in the highly regarded J-Day Off-road Series. Never before has this region seen such a dramatic influx of talent and intensity. The unique format that is J-Day Off-road brings in riders from all disciplines of off-road racing, from Supercross Riders to Trials Experts. The courses are unique and different at every round combining a thrilling, blood pumping mix of unique woods sections, motocross and enduro-cross sections as well. Each round features a variety of mixed terrain including sand, loam, rocks, and even roots. All of this tied together by the hair raising technical obstacles that are the J-Day Extreme Sections. Racers of all ages leave nothing on the table as they traverse these thrilling tracks and astound fans at every venue.
