Music For Montserrat

The Music For Montserrat concert was the brainchild of Sir George Martin in response to the plight of the people of Montserrat following a volcanic eruption on the island. The concert was held at the Royal Albert Hall on September 15th 1997 and Sir George Martin pulled together a stellar line up of artists including Phil Collins, Mark Knopfler, Sting, Elton John, Eric Clapton and Paul McCartney. The artists gave the project their wholehearted support and produced some truly magical collaborations on the night. The Soufrière Hills volcano on Montserrat is still in an eruption phase and many of the population have been evacuated from their homes to safer areas of the island. The fall off in tourist travel has decimated the local economy.

The Waldbühne in Berlin, one of the most appealing outdoor amphitheatres on the European continent, is the home of the Berliner Philharmoniker's summer concerts. In 2015 the Berliner Philharmoniker surrounded themselves with plenty of celebrities, including not only conductor Sir Simon Rattle, but also manyfigures from film history: Harry Potter, E.T., Ben Hur and many more. They were all brought to life musically when the orchestra performed some of Hollywood's most famous film music.

The founding of the Berliner Philharmoniker on the 1 May 1882, is annually celebrated in a European city of cultural significance. In 2016 the Berliner Philharmoniker travelled to Røros in Mid-Norway, to play in the town’s beautiful baroque church. For Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor the orchestra was joined by Norwegian violinist Vilde Frang, who debuted with the Berliner Philharmoniker.

Everything Will Change is a feature-length documentary concert film of The Postal Service's performance at the Greek Theater in Berkeley, CA during their 2013 reunion tour. A collaboration between Benjamin Gibbard (of Death Cab for Cutie) and Jimmy Tamborello (from Dntel), with Rilo Kiley's Jenny Lewis, The Postal Service released Give Up, their one and only album, in 2003. That record went on to sell over a million copies and most of the band's fans never had the chance to see them perform live. In celebration of the 10-year anniversary of Give Up, the band reunited to tour the world. With intimate interviews and backstage footage of the band, Everything Will Change captures one of the nights when everything did change.
