There was a time when buccaneers terrorized the Caribbean, double-dealing, swashbuckling and pillaging across the high seas. And the most feared of them all was Blackbeard the Pirate. Early 1700s. The King of England sends Sir Henry Morgan (Torin Thatcher) to kill or capture the dreaded pirate Blackbeard (Robert Newton). He assigns a dashing young officer, Edward Maynard (Keith Andes), to be captured. Now working as the pirate ship's surgeon, Maynard befriends a fellow captive Edwina Mansfield (Linda Darnell). But little does he realize that Sir Morgan is secretly working with the pirates--or that the beautiful Mansfield is neither helpless nor innocent and has an agenda of her own.

Red Dragon, the Thomas Harris novel that introduced serial killer Hannibal Lecter to the world, was adapted for the screen by Michael Mann as Manhunter. Ace criminal profiler Will Graham (William Petersen) is very good at his job because he has the ability to make himself think like the killers he tracks. Will has been in retirement since catching Hannibal "the Cannibal" Lecter (Brian Cox), as being inside that particular deranged mind caused Will to have a breakdown. Will's boss Jack Crawford (Dennis Farina visits Will at his home, showing him pictures from a murder scene and asking for his help in catching a new killer they have dubbed "the Tooth Fairy" (Tom Noonan). In order to test his mental strength, Will visits Hannibal in his prison cell. Adding to the already substantial mental stress Will experiences when he returns to the job are nosy tabloid reporter Freddy Lounds (Stephen Lang), as well as Hannibal's attempts at seeking revenge through the Tooth Fairy.

Filmed over the two sold-out shows that opened the new Chase Center arena in San Francisco, S&M2 comprises more than two and a half hours of Metallica joining forces with the nearly 80 member San Francisco Symphony, lead by conductor Edwin Outwater, with a special appearance by legendary conductor and long time SF Symphony Musical Director Michael Tilson Thomas. The shows marked the first time since the original S&M performances in 1999 (documented in the Grammy-winning live album and concert film, S&M) that these two venerated musical entities have reunited on stage.The concert film captures all twenty songs performed with elaborate classical arrangements, including many Metallica fan favorites and two very unique classical pieces chosen by Michael Tilson Thomas. The film has been re-edited by the band -and the audio re-mixed and remastered- since the initial theatrical exhibition ran in October 2019, giving this version of S&M2 a whole new look and sound!
