Destiny Rising

Destiny Rising

Destined for danger . . .

Elena has faced countless challenges—escaping the Dark Dimension, defeating phantoms, discovering she's a Guardian. But nothing compares to choosing between the two loves of her life: Stefan and Damon Salvatore. Elena has reunited with Stefan, while Damon, hurt by the rejection, has become dark and unpredictable. Now Elena's torn between saving Damon's soul and staying true to Stefan.

But before Elena can decide who her heart belongs to, Dalcrest College's campus is overrun with vampires determined to resurrect Klaus, the wicked Old One who will stop at nothing to destroy Elena—and everyone close to her.

As Elena learns more about her destiny as a Guardian, a protector against evil on earth, she realizes that before she can defeat Klaus, she has to sacrifice someone close to her. Elena must decide how much—and who—she's willing to give up before it's too late. . . .

  • I cried like a baby.

I started reading this series when I was in middle school. The ending to this series was perfect. I cried so hard for theses characters that I grew up reading about. How they all ended up happily ever after. Well most of them anyway. I love it. Thank you for continuing this truly fantastic story. Love Meghan.

The fact that this book ends in one of two ways to end is SAD. A recommendation would be a book with an alternate ending where Elena runs away with Damon. You could make the series longer and not have 50% of the readers of this book hate the series. What a freaking horrible ending. I love L.J. Smith her work is amazing and creative but this ending was way to abrupt and sudden and hard on the reader. It leaves me heart broken to know there's a generic ending that leaves one in a rage quit.

  • Wasn't Happy

I didn't like the ending one bit. I was completely disappointed with it. This was the only book of the series I found absolutely aggravating and the ending was useless.

  • Not happy

I did not like the ending at all. The story line just isn't what it was before. You can tell its a different author. L.J. Smith is an amazing author and this book shows it is not her. I always read through the books as fast as I could because of the excitement of the story. It took me awhile to finish this one because towards the middle it just wasn't the same. The passion was no longer there. I am totally disappointed! You could always feel the passion between Elena and Stefan as well as Elena and Damon in the whole series. Towards the end you can tell the author tried but just didn't deliver. The ending left you hanging and I hate that. I was leery about getting the last couple of books because I knew I was a new author but I loved them until the last book. It's like night and day with the story telling. SPOILER ALERT ON CERTAIN CHARACTERS......... The third book made me feel like I went from reading Vampire Diaries to reading Twilight. I kept expecting to see Edward instead of Stefan.....Jacob instead of Zander (Except Zander isn't in love with Elena lol). I loveTwilight but not in my Vampire Diaries world! Just total disappointment!!!
