Live at the Spud features guitar maestro, singer-songwriter Josh Smith performing his signature mix of blues, rock, and jazz originals, culled from albums spanning his entire career and features the dynamic power trio of Josh on guitar and vocals, Gary Novak on drums and Travis Carlton on bass. “Anyone who has witnessed one of Josh Smith’s live performances comes away in awe of the man’s ability to fuse jazz, blues, and country into one neat package—with a technical ability that has to be seen to be believed" - Music Radar. With nine tracks, the album was recorded and filmed live at the Legendary Baked Potato music club in Studio City, California over two nights in December 2018. The goal was to present an unedited look at a normal night at the Baked Potato. Raw, powerful, improvisational and explosive. Josh says, “I wanted to give the fans a taste of what our shows are like in an intimate setting.” He adds, “We truly went for it on every note both nights.” As a producer as well as the frontman in the spotlight, Josh Smith chose the material for Live at the Spud almost as a culmination of the last 10 years, something from each of his albums, almost to wrap up that period of music in his life, before pushing ahead. This film documents Coldplay's acclaimed Mylo Xyloto world tour, which has been seen by more than three million people since it began in June 2011. The film was directed by Paul Dugdale, previously responsible for Adele’s Live at the Royal Albert Hall and The Prodigy’s Worlds On Fire concert films. Live 2012 includes footage from Coldplay’s shows at Paris’s Stade de France, Montreal’s Bell Centre and the band’s triumphant Pyramid Stage headline performance at Glastonbury 2011.

The Definitive Concert

This hour-long concert, shot in Vancouver, Canada, in 1983, finds the latter day Jefferson Starship (that is, the edition of the band in which Mickey Thomas has replaced Marty Balin as co-lead singer with Grace Slick) running through numbers from such albums as Freedom at Point Zero (1979), Modern Times (1981), and Winds of Change (1982), with a few glimpses of earlier times (“Somebody to Love” and “White Rabbit” from Jefferson Airplane, “Ride the Tiger” from 1974’s Dragon Fly). This is an efficient seven-member arena rock band, with Slick and Thomas backed by Paul Kantner, David Freiberg, and Pete Sears, who switch around from guitar to bass to keyboards, plus lead guitarist Craig Chaquico and drummer Donny Baldwin, all of them chiming in with vocals here and there.
