Le Mans 2014

Le Mans 2014

2014 saw the eagerly anticipated return of Porsche to the Le Mans fray. The 919 hybrid looked to add to the legend forged by cars like the 917, 956 and 911. Le Mans in 2014 is a very different proposition to that faced by the Munich company's designers and engineers in 1998 when they last won the historic race outright. Audi, Porsche's stablemate certainly weren't going to hand their hard won LMP1 crown to Porsche without a fight and (relatively) new kids on the block Toyota had their sights firmly set on a first win. In short, Porsche had a heck of a hill to climb. It all made for one of the most thrilling Le Mans 24 races in recent memory and gave the commentary team at Radio Le Mans more than enough subject matter for their marathon efforts. Add in to the mixture a truly exciting LMP2 class and some great racing amongst the GTEs and you've got the perfect recipe for the most prestigious motor race on the calendar. Duke's review features four hours of the best highlights, packed full of close-ups, in car shots, pit lane angles and spectacular (though thankfully not serious) crashes and you've got the best Le mans review of all time. We love it and we hope you do too.

The Greatest Race - Hislop V Fogarty

The Greatest Race - Hislop V Fogarty

This is a nostalgic look back at the race chosen by fans of the Isle of Man TT as the greatest ever seen on the Mountain course. The 1992 Senior TT was a legendary battle between Steve Hislop and Carl Fogarty, two of the greatest racers of their generation. Hizzy would become a two-time British superbike champion while Foggy would claim the Superbike World Championship crown an amazing four times. Almost half the fans who voted chose this race above nine other classic confrontations as the greatest TT race ever from a shortlist drawn up by leading figures in the road racing world, including John McGuinness, Ian Hutchinson, Michael Dunlop and Dave Molyneux, Charlie Williams, Steve Parrish and Motor Cycle News journalist Gary Pinchin. The 1992 Senior TT saw Hislop and Fogarty on unfamiliar machines; Foggy was on a Loctite Yamaha OW01 while Hizzy rode an Abus-backed Norton rotary. However, that didn't stop them delivering one of the truly memorable showdowns in TT history, with both riders smashing records during the race.

Above Below

Above Below

ABOVE BELOW is the first full-length BMX feature from Monster Energy in association with DIG BMX. This two part film sees a diverse group of riders Ben Lewis, Dakota Roche, Fernando Laczko, Ed Zunda, Nathan Williams and Dan Lacey travel the world pushing the limits of BMX progression under the watchful lens of the director, Richard Forne. Ten months is a very short period of time to try and produce one video, let alone a two part release, but as you will see in ABOVE, the riders gave it everything they had and came through with something very special. BELOW then shows you how each rider achieved their goals in the face of setbacks from not only security and the eye of the law but also frustration and injury. By voicing the viewpoints of some of the BMX world’s top riders and industry figureheads, BELOW taps into the true meaning of the sport, culture and its ambitious yet creative approach. ABOVE BELOW documents what it is to have a goal and achieve that at any cost. Watch this and whether you have ridden a BMX bike your whole life or never even set foot on a pedal, this is a movie that will inspire you to get out and get at it. All proceeds go to the ‘Road 2 Recovery’ charity, dedicated to helping action sport athletes worldwide. Sit back, watch and enjoy; thank you to all who supported!

Moto 7: The Movie

Moto 7: The Movie

MOTO7: A film that rewrites the moto playbook, with the biggest jumps, the gnarliest tracks, and some of the most remote locations a motorcycle has ever touched. Experience Blake Baggett’s newly-developed El Chupacabra Ranch in Florida, one of the most gargantuan home tracks ever made, where Baggett and Ken Roczen enjoy a daily routine of riding light speed fast laps with an almost lackadaisical ease. Three miles away, Aldon Baker trains factory superstars Ryan Dungey, Marvin Musqin and Jason Anderson on a program fit for Seal Team Six. Then there’s the Smokey Mountains in Idaho, where the Sipes brothers Ryan and Justin go to feel the sweet serenity of a man, his motorcycle, and countless miles of natural single-track. All of these riders are taking moto to territories it has never seen, be that on the stopwatch or the trail map. There’s Colton Haaker, the Endurocross phenom whose bike-control and technical abilities are that of superhuman levels. Then of course, Justin Barcia, the exemplar of style on a motocross bike, the guy who defies logic and rides with an amount of panache and flamboyance that is shunned in professional motocross, yet somehow has climbed to the top of the sport.

Transworld Skateboarding's Skate and Create 2

Transworld Skateboarding's Skate and Create 2

Skate and Create 2 is a skateboarding contest unlike any other, where the tricks that go down are only part of the equation. With an abandoned warehouse for a playing field, one ramp builder, and a photography and videography crew at each of the four competing teams’ disposal, you’re not only judged on how you skate, but what you can create. With a nine-day window for each of the DVS, C1RCA, etnies, and DC teams to build any obstacles or skate spot setups their collective minds can imagine, all the while filming and photographing what went down and building a portfolio of images and a short film entry on which each team would ultimately be judged, Skate and Create 2 is an ultimate test of everything skateboarding truly entails.
