"Burrowes delivers red-hot chemistry with a masterful mix of playfulness and sensuality." —Publishers Weekly
Honor or happiness—he can’t have both.
Tiberius Flynn may be every inch an English lord, but smart, headstrong beauty Hester Daniels has no use for his high-handed ways--no matter how handsome, charming, or beguiling he is. They only see eye to eye in caring about the feisty little girl who is under their protection.
Tiberius's haughty insistence that his wealthy estate in England is a better place for the child than her beloved, rundown Scotland home sparks Hester's fierce protectiveness, and the battle lines are drawn.

Reviews
I have always enjoyed reading a good romance novel. As a physician practicing medicine day to day in a pandemic, the escape of romance stories have been a balm. The character development in this particular story was superb! The sympathy for each of the characters with their human flaws was something you couldn’t help but find. Tiberius, caught between family love and duty, was in such a difficult situation. Hester, learning to trust herself and others again, had you cheering for her heart! Even Quinworth, despite his scheming, had you hoping for him. The loss of a child tearing up his relationship with his wife was such a realistic obstacle. Their last conversation of the book had me bawling like a baby! In the middle of everything, sweet Fiona showed that children are often much more able to read the truth of human nature and see potential for joy than their adult counterparts. This is probably my favorite romance I have read in the last five years, and I have read hundreds!

I was not at all disappointed in this read. I suppose you could say I was disappointed that it ended. This book turns up the sex a bit more than other Grace Burrowes books, certainly more than the Windham series. I made the mistake of glancing at a review prior to reading this book and was upset that I did. Where the reviewer had found Tye to be a mean man I found that he was certainly not so. He was real and like me, someone who doesn't warm up to children quickly. I loved that this was a continuation in a prior storyline and am anxious for the final installment. If you enjoy Grace Burrowes, you'll enjoy this book. Period.
